There was a major earthquake in Chile. So soon after the terrible devastation from a major earthquake in Haiti is very disconcerting. The loss of life was tremendous in Haiti – over 100,000 people died. But early reports from the 8.8 quake in Chile is more hopeful – less than 100 have died. Chile gets a lot of credit for having tough building codes and being better prepared to deal with earthquakes than Haiti.

I just got finished voting and I found it very exciting, this was the very first vote I have cast to determine the President of the United States of America. I know the person I voted for will not win the election and that is a shame for John McCain is a very good man who would be a great leader of this great nation. I had some doubts about his running mate but in the end I voted for him anyway. Let us hope he can pull the biggest upset since Dewey and win this thing.
