There was a major earthquake in Chile. So soon after the terrible devastation from a major earthquake in Haiti is very disconcerting. The loss of life was tremendous in Haiti – over 100,000 people died. But early reports from the 8.8 quake in Chile is more hopeful – less than 100 have died. Chile gets a lot of credit for having tough building codes and being better prepared to deal with earthquakes than Haiti.

All this week the sun has been shining and none of our delivery vehicles have broken down, what a week. Now the rain is coming back for at least a week we will have rain and clouds, how far behind that can I be having to have a van towed in and fixed. All thing run in cycles I know this and I fear that the cycle is on the downswing. It has been to nice the last week and we will have to pay for the nice weather and vehicles running great. Such is my life.

The big rat who calls himself Phil the Groundhog is in control of our weather for the next six weeks, he can see his shadow and give us six more weeks of winter or see no shadow and we will be basking in springs warmth and sunshine early, I say lets pay him off to get the no shadow thing. I think the rat can be had for a couple of bucks and a chunk of cheese or what ever “ground hogs” eat. I think it would be worth it to get an early spring.

I hate winter, I can not stand the cold weather any more I guess I am getting to old to deal with it anymore. I want to be able to go to the beach everyday and get a nice tan. That and being able to let my dogs run around outside the year round is very important to me. Some days they can barely go out side to use the restroom it is so dam cold. I will be saving up any extra money I can find this year so next winter we can be in a much warmer place.

Last night was the coldest night in six years, we got down to 2 degrees here in Nashville and it was under 0 in several spots around this area. I have been cold for three days and I do not see an end in sight it will be down in the single digits tonight too and what makes it even worse I have to go in to work tonight and I am not sure I am ready to freeze my butt off delivering papers tonight. How much longer is it until spring?
